Co-design the last 20% with us.
ExpatReady is ~80% built and in active test. We're hand-picking 10 Canadian immigration firms, RCICs and Immigration Lawyers, for a 6-month advisory engagement. In return: ExpatReady free for life + lifetime royalty income + lifetime referral income on every firm you refer.
We don't want 25 early adopters.
We want 10 co-designers.
The product is roughly 80% built. The remaining 20% is the part that only a practising Canadian immigration professional can get right: which exact follow-up question fires when a spousal applicant has a refusal in their history; whether the Schedule A goes to the principal applicant or the dependant; how a CICC audit actually unfolds when something goes wrong.
We don't want to guess. We want to build that last 20% with 10 firms who've done this work for years, who know exactly where the current stack breaks, and who will tell us the truth when our defaults are wrong.
In return: ExpatReady free for life, a lifetime royalty as a Founding Advisor, lifetime referral income on every firm you refer, voting rights on the roadmap, and the kind of relationship with the founding team that an off-the-shelf SaaS customer never gets.
What you get. What it costs you.
Below: six concrete things you receive as a Founding Advisor. What you give up: about 90 minutes a month and honest opinions.
ExpatReady free for life
Full Practice tier across all your seats, forever. Not 24 months. Not a discount. The product, on us, for as long as you run your firm.
Lifetime royalty income
A perpetual royalty share for every Founding Advisor, paid alongside ExpatReady revenue. Continues for life, not contingent on involvement after the 6-month engagement closes. Exact royalty structure discussed at signing.
Lifetime referral income
Every firm you refer that becomes a customer pays you a share of their subscription for as long as they remain on ExpatReady. Not for a year. Not for the engagement. For life. Exact percentage discussed at signing.
Roadmap voting rights
Weighted vote among the 10 advisors. We commit to ship the top three feature requests every quarter, indefinitely.
Direct line to the founders
Private Slack channel with the 4-founder team, RCIC, CTO, CPO/CMO, and lead product BA/dev. Response SLA inside one business day.
Founding Advisor, for life
Lifelong badge in-product and on the public team page (opt-in). 30-day early access to every new pathway, integration, and module.
Who we're looking for.
We're picking by fit, not first-come. If you nod through most of the list, you're probably right for this.
- You actively practice Canadian immigration (RCIC or Immigration Lawyer in good standing)
- Your firm runs 2-25 active practitioners
- You've personally felt the 7-tool stack pain (Clio + DocuSign + QuickBooks + ...)
- You can commit a minimum of 3 hours per month for 6 months
- You're willing to migrate within 90 days of go-live
- You'll allow a co-authored case study at month 6
Roughly 90 minutes per month.
Plus written feedback after each major release. We respect that you're running a practice, not a side project.
3 hours per month, minimum
Typically one 60-min session + 2 hours of written feedback, design reviews, or ad-hoc questions.
Monthly product session
Recorded, structured agenda. Roadmap review + a deep-dive on one module.
Quarterly written feedback
Honest critique after each major release. Plain language; no NPS theatre.
Co-authored case study
At month 6. You see and approve every word before publication.
Apply in 10 minutes.
Reply within 1 business day.
The application is short on purpose - practice context, not a sales pitch. Prefer email? founders@expatready.com.

Want to talk before you apply?
Drop us a note at founders@expatready.com. A quick intro paragraph - who you are, your firm, what you'd want to know first - is enough. We reply within one business day.
- Your name + RCIC / Lawyer license number
- Firm name + active practitioner count
- What you're using today (Clio, INSZoom, spreadsheets...)
- The 2-3 questions you most want answered
Things candidates ask before applying.
ExpatReady free for life, really?
Really. Full Practice tier, every seat in your firm, forever. It's the strongest signal we can give that we want serious advisors, not free trials. No fine print at month 6, no renewal trap, no upsell ladder.
How does the referral revenue share work?
Every firm you refer who becomes a paying ExpatReady customer pays you a share of their subscription, for as long as they remain a customer. The exact percentage and structure are discussed at signing, we want to land on something that's genuinely meaningful for serious referrers.
What does '3 hours per month minimum' look like?
Typically one 60-min recorded product session, plus about 2 hours of asynchronous work, written feedback after releases, the occasional design-review email, answering an SQR-logic question on Slack. We respect your billable time.
What happens after the 6-month advisory term?
The active advisory engagement (monthly sessions, async hours) closes. Everything else continues for life: free Practice tier across all your seats, lifetime royalty as a Founding Advisor, referral income on every firm you brought in, roadmap voting rights, Founding Advisor badge. The engagement is bounded; the income streams and the product grant are not.
Is this an investment opportunity?
No. We're not selling equity through this program. The royalty and referral income are revenue-share entitlements, not equity. They don't confer voting rights at the corporate level, don't dilute, and don't sit on the cap table. If you want to invest separately, that's a different conversation.
Is the product really 80% built?
Yes. NestJS + Prisma backend, Next.js frontend, Stripe Connect for trust accounting, Bull/Redis for the RNA queue, the SQR rules engine. Production-grade architecture in active QA. We'll demo on the call.
Can two partners from one firm join?
Yes. Each firm gets one Advisor seat, but multiple partners can attend sessions. We just need one named lead per firm for the contract and Slack channel.
What if I'm uncomfortable being public about advising?
You stay private. The Founding Advisor badge and public team-page listing are opt-in. The advisory work itself is confidential by default. Referral revenue share works whether or not you're publicly listed.
